"Creatively strengthening our stewardship of the Grand River Watershed through education and the arts."

Great Lakes Music Camp

October 11-14, 2018

GRWAMC was awarded a grant of $2600 from the State of Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The grant was awarded through the MCACA peer review process and was one of 561 applications to compete for MCACA fiscal year 2019 funding.

The MCACA peer review process allows for each grant application to be competitively considered by a panel of in-state and out-of-state arts and culture professionals. This ensures the taxpayers, who support this project through legislative appropriations, and all other visitors or residents in Michigan will have access to the highest quality arts and cultural experiences.

As a result of this grant, Great Lakes Music Camp is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs Minigrant Program, administered by LowellArts. We are using the grant funds to support the Michigan artists that are teaching at Great Lakes Music Camp. Bruce Ling, Hayes Griffin, and May Erlewine are Michigan treasures who are dedicated to passing on the stories and music of traditional music and the wherewithal to do so.

We are excited and humbled to have this all-inclusive event recognized as culturally and artistically significant, and to pass on the torch of our musical heritage. Join us and experience music on the shores of Lake Michigan at Camp Blodgett.
